First Week of School

I haven’t posted much this week because we have been busy with our first week of school. It’s been fun and laidback so far. Now we’re just in Kindergarten and Preschool so we're easing into everything. Coleman and Emmie are so excited, although most of the excitement surrounds their new pencils!

We’re gearing up for a busy weekend. Our church is supporting the Crisis Pregnancy Center Walk (I’m participating in the walk) and we are starting AWANA on Sunday night. I hope all of you have a great weekend.

Check out Leslie’s site for some great stuff about contentment.

I love new pencils too :)

That Saxon K course is great - very fun for the kids and yet they are learning important math skills along the way. I'm going to give you a little tip...Saxon K has you cutting out lots of shapes, graphs and such. It can be very time consuming. I bought coloured card stock that I was able to feed through my printer. This way I could photocopy shapes right onto the paper and cut them out.

Okay, I have two tips. Keep those shapes and such that you make somewhere safe! I use those plastic page protectors for scrapbooking and put them in a math binder. A file folder or envelopes would work too. This way when your daughter takes Saxon K you won't have to do *all* that work again.
