Still Trying

The Desiring God book sale is sooo huge that the server is having problems. I have tried all day to do my order. I read this on Justin Taylor's site. Maybe I will try to get up in the night to do my order (Ellerie is sleeping so good now that I may have to set the alarm)! This is an awesome problem - how incredible for DG to influence so many people with the gospel for the glory of God?!

Tis the Season

We are in a unique season of our lives right now - where all of the children in our family are 6 and under. That translates into 'needy'. Usually Mom is the one who tr ies to meet all of the needs. Now we are trying to train the older 2 to help more around the house but they can only do so much. There are positives and negatives to every season of life so we are holding on to those positive things right now: like all of the sweet kisses and cuddles and their wonder with everything.

There is often guilt about what I can't do or what I can't get to so I was thankful for this encouraging word the other day from Metro Moms:

"I keep thinking of this quote from Donald Whitney in Simplify Your Spiritual Life. "Like Jean with three in diapers, you may be in a situation that curtails many of your spiritual activities. You may be looking at many months or even years of such limitations. Do what you can. God does not love us more when we do more, nor less when we do less. He accepts us, not because of what we do for Him, but because of what He's done for us in Christ. The Bible says,"He made us accepted in the Beloved [that is, Jesus}" (Eph. 1:6). And nothing "shall be able to separate us form the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom. 8:39). Love God, and within the limitations He has sovereignly placed in your life at this time, do what you can." (emphasis mine) How freeing this is to me. Especially, remembering that He has sovereignly placed these limitations in my life right now. "

For the Record...

I've been getting some grief (good natured of course) about the 'tooth' money for Coleman! This is new territory for us so we didn't know about the going rate these days! You veterans need to fill me in next time. That night, a 5 was the only cash on hand plus PawPaw had already given him $5 for it being loose - so we had to at least compete with PawPaw right? Don't worry - it didn't take long to realize that 5 bucks for 20 teeth is alot of money (and little sister is just a year behind Coleman) so we decided to just do $5 for the first tooth and $1 for all of the others!

You Know You Have a Newborn When...

1. You have traded in your perfume for the smell of sour milk. (At least the baby likes it!)

2. You have to choose the 'scruntchie' in place of a shower.

3. You actually fall asleep in the dental chair while they are cleaning your teeth! (They say sleep when you can.)

4. It's easier to buy everyone a few extra pair of undies so you can try to keep up with the laundry.

5. You can fall asleep while sitting up - and when you wake up, you call that a restful nap. (Although the pain in your neck lasts for a while.)

6. It takes until 4:00 to get everyone out of their pajamas and into regular clothes.

7. Supper consists of a choice between chicken salad and corn dogs - for 3 nights in a row!

But ... she's worth it!!
